Brewer Science Raises Awareness for Dr. Norman Dobson

Feb 5, 2006

Brewer Science will hold a chili luncheon for company employees to solicit scholarship donations and pledges for the Dr. Norman Dobson Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The late Dr. Dobson served as Managing Director of Research and Development at Brewer Science and was instrumental in developing a relationship with the Center for Applied Science and Engineering (CASE) at Missouri State University, located in Springfield, MO.  Dr. Dobson worked closely with the CASE leadership to develop innovative policies to better serve the small businesses that are part of the advanced technology industry.

The late Dr. Dobson lost his struggle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, in March 2005.  A scholarship fund has been established in his honor for undergraduate or graduate students working at CASE who are majoring in one of the applied science fields and with an interest in small business.  Special consideration is also given to students who have served in the armed services.  Value from this scholarship fund will be recognized through the development of skills that will benefit the advanced technology industry.

The community is invited to contribute to the scholarship fund.  Contributions may be sent to:

        Dr. Norman Dobson Memorial Scholarship
        Missouri State Foundation
        901 S. National
        Springfield, MO   65897

Brewer Science will be matching a portion of the contributions received for the scholarship fund.
