Brewer Science Continues to Support the Talent Behind Missouri S&T’s Solar Miner VII
February 21, 2012 – Rolla, Mo. – The Missouri S&T Solar Car Team recently received a boost in their design efforts as Brewer Science Corporate Relations Manager Loretta Wallis stopped by the Kummer Student Design Center on campus to present the Team with a check on behalf of the company. For more than 10 years, Dr. Terry Brewer and Brewer Science have supported the Missouri S&T Solar Car Team through contributions, service and mentoring students.
“For more than 30 years, Brewer Science has demonstrated a commitment to making a positive impact in our community. The S&T Solar Car Team is exciting and interesting, as it fosters creativity and innovation among young adults,” said Wallis. “The blustery winter weather was not dampening the enthusiasm of the Missouri S&T Solar Car Team. The students shared stories of technical challenges caused by the extreme heat they have encountered in past races, and look forward to competing again this summer in Solar Miner VII.”
Long before the competition begins, the students are immersed in the design details of Solar Miner VII as they look for opportunities for improvement. The current design would make this year’s solar car the lightest to ever race in the American Solar Challenge.
