Brewer Science Sponsoring ‘Team Up for Science’ 5K Run/Walk to Benefit Missouri Science Classrooms
Proceeds from the event will benefit science classrooms at the Belle and Vienna schools, and Brewer Science will match 25% of the total amount raised at the event up to $2500.
“This event has something for everyone whether you’re participating in the 5K, cheering on a family member or a friend, or wanting to enjoy an evening of fun in the beautiful surroundings at Prairie Star,” said Dr. Terry Brewer, president and founder of Brewer Science. “Brewer Science has long championed science education in Missouri’s public schools, and this event is an opportunity to support the science programs that are inspiring students to consider careers in science and technology.”
The Science Family Fun Day will begin Saturday, August 3, at 4:00 pm with events and entertainment featuring carnival food, a wagon ride, a nature walk, and science experiments at Prairie Star Restoration Farm. The entry fee for the event is a $2 donation for those 13 and up and a $1 donation for children ages 3-12; those 2 and under will be admitted free.
The Team Up For Science 5K Run/Walk will begin at 6:30 pm and has an entry fee of $25 per person or $60 for a team of 3. All run/walk participants will receive a t-shirt, a chip-timed race, and entry into the Family Fun Event.
Team plaques will go to the top 3 teams of 3. Individual medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age group by gender. Age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
