Brewer Science Sponsors Internationally Acclaimed Jacques Thibaud String Trio Concert In Peaceful Bend Wine Cellar

May 13, 2014

May 13, 2014 - Brewer Science, Inc., of Rolla, MO, is once again giving music lovers the opportunity to experience a unique live concert inside a wine cellar, featuring a performance by three of the world’s finest chamber musicians. On Saturday, June 14, at the Peaceful Bend Vineyard in Steelville, MO, Brewer Science will continue its tradition of underwriting a wine cellar performance by the internationally acclaimed Jacques Thibaud Trio from Berlin, Germany. This exceptional concert will be the only U.S. wine cellar performance by the group.

The Jacques Thibaud String Trio is comprised of Hannah Strijbos, viola; Burkhard Maiss, violin; and Bogdan Jianu, cello. These world-class musicians are from the Netherlands, Germany, and Romania, respectively. The original international trio was founded at the Berlin School of Art in 1994. The newest member, violist Hannah Strijbos, joined the group in 2012.

The Jacques Thibaud String Trio has participated in some of the most prestigious festivals in Europe, including Belgium’s Musica Mundi, Gidon Kremer’s Echternach Festival in Luxembourg, and Denmark’s Roskilde Schudert Festival. The Washington Post has described the trio as “Elegance and finely-gauged balance between instrumental voices…” and The New York Times proclaimed, “These musicians are clearly on a mission to bring attention to the neglected string trio repertory. But they are also having fun. It's the best combination. Success is sure to come to them.”

The wine cellar concert is one of many artistic events that Brewer Science, a Missouri-based technology manufacturing company with a tradition of supporting the fine arts, sponsors annually. In recognition of the company’s numerous contributions to the arts, Dr. Terry Brewer, founder and CEO of Brewer Science, was recently awarded the 2014 Missouri Arts Award for Philanthropy.

Commenting on the Jacques Thibaud Trio concert, Dr. Brewer states, “The Jacques Thibaud Trio has achieved international recognition with their exceptional presentation of chamber music combined with technical perfection and expression. They have performed around the world to marvelous international acclaim and enthusiastic reviews. We are excited to bring once again the Jacques Thibaud String Trio to Missouri and to showcase their music in a truly unique venue. We are looking forward to an extraordinary evening of music.” Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6:30 pm, and the concert will begin at 8:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, at the Peaceful Bend Vineyard, located at 1942 Highway T in Steelville, Missouri. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased at Peaceful Bend Vineyard, Kent Jewelry, or Arts Rolla. Seating is limited.
