Brewer Science Receives Prestigious Safety Excellence Award From Missouri Association of Manufacturers

July 23, 2014 - Rolla, Mo. – Brewer Science recently was awarded the prestigious 2014 Safety Excellence Award from the Missouri Association of Manufacturers (MAM) for its commitment to worker safety. The company was recognized before a group of more than 100 Missouri manufacturers for creating a safe work environment for up to 699,999 hours.

Kim Inman, CEO of MAM, and Kathy Choate, SRC Safety Director who served as Chair of the MAM Safety Committee, presented the award. Accepting the award for Brewer Science were Shannon Whittle, Safety Systems Manager, and Tom Brown, Executive Director of Global Corporate Services.

“Brewer Science is all about enabling people to be successful in a work environment where safety is a top priority,” said Tom Brown. “Ongoing training and an active interest in accident prevention have created a company culture committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.”

Brewer Science is an advanced manufacturer of innovative materials used in manufacturing electronic products such as smartphones, tablets, and LED televisions. In May of this year, the company opened a new state-of-the-art chemical manufacturing facility at Rolla National Airport located in Vichy, MO. In July, it expanded its R&D and manufacturing facility in Springfield, MO, to enhance its diversification into carbon-based materials and sensor devices.

The company received previous recognition for safety from MAM in 2010 and 2011. In addition, on May 8, 2014, the National Safety Council presented Brewer Science with the Les Reynolds Million Hour Award for accomplishing more than 2.5 million work hours without a lost-time accident. The award will be displayed at the company’s global headquarters located in Rolla, MO, USA.

Other Missouri manufacturers receiving recognition at the July 16 event were CMC Recycling, Springfield; Tyler Pipe, Marshfield; SRC Electrical, LLC, Springfield; NewStream Enterprises, Springfield; and EFCO, Monett.
