Brewer Science Celebrated Memorial Day by Sending Packages to Soldiers

Jun 15, 2005

Memorial Day 2005 was recognized at Brewer Science by supporting Brewer Science family members currently serving in the armed services in Iraq.

During the month of May an employee fundraiser luncheon was held to raise money to purchase and ship items that are difficult for the deployed troops to find, with a total of $666.45 collected.  In addition employees generously donated items at several "Freedom" boxes located on the Brewer Science campus.  A total of 17 boxes weighing approximately 125 pounds total were packed and shipped to the 3rd Recon Unit of the U.S. Marine Corps.  Matt Battley, son of Brewer Science employee Linda Battley, is currently serving with that unit in Iraq.
