Ultrapure specialty chemicals for the semiconductor, display, electronics, and aerospace industries require a purity >99%. As a specialty chemicals leader, Brewer Science possesses the expertise to produce materials with low trace metal content and extensive experience synthesizing a wide variety of organic compounds. Brewer Science can produce materials with an impurity level below 10 ppb for all metal ions. Brewer Science can handle all key chemical reactions and support its customers in developing innovative, creative new products.
Brewer Science, with its diverse experience in chemistry, processes, and equipment, is a research partner for developing innovative materials and can also offer contract-based manufacturing of existing ultra-clean, ultra-pure-grade materials according to customer requirements.
The computing power available to send the first man to the moon in 1969 was less than that available to each of us today on our smartphones. This incredible advance has been made possible by the miniaturization of microchips and the ever-evolving computing power of semiconductors.
The rise in wireless connectivity, sophisticated automotive features or the internet of things is reflected in the increasing demand for semiconductors capable of meeting the highest requirements. Ultrapure specialty chemicals are the basic raw materials used in the photolithography process which forms the critical layer in the production of memory and logic chips.
Brewer Science has been producing electronics-grade photoactive materials for over 30 years. We have put together selected chromophores with vintage acids to create a unique product offering for critical layer resists in highest resolution.
Most of these products are available in ulrapure quality boasting an above 99.5% purity and a metal content of all 26 metals below 10 ppb each. This helps transform conventional chemistry, making it available for new frontiers in resist resolution.
With thicker film resist demands, more formulations contain thermalacid generators to enable final curing during post-baking.
A set of products with different acid releasing temperatures is available from Brewer Science. Semiconductor-grade purity and effective costs are mandatory in the final application.
Brewer Science is producing and selling highly sensitive, thermostable and color-neutral photoinitiators with good solubility in standard resist solvents.
These photoinitiators are qualified by major resist producers and offer a cost-effective solution for resist formulations used in displays and semiconductor packaging.
Crosslinkers are an integral product for the semiconductor industry. In conjunction with polymers, crosslinkers bind polymer chains together to produce the photoresist solution essential to memory and logic chip manufacturing. The low metal contamination and the methylene chloride- and formaldehyde-free products from Brewer Science define the new standard in the semiconductor industry. Various chemical improvements have brought the sublimation tendency to a very low level. We reduce metal impurities to less than 10 ppb each, which is crucial in the production of increasingly smaller memory and logic chips.
Brewer Science developed and scaled up a number of monomers with sterically hindered groups. From ultrapure grade for new critical layer developments to high-end memory and logic chips-related photo materials such as photoresist, bottom antireflective coating, and hardmask applications, where cost and volume availability are important factors. An integral product for the semiconductor industry, monomers are used to make custom polymers for photoresist solutions. Brewer Science has a long history of creating critical layer polyacrylate-based resists. Together with our customers we have developed and scaled up various monomers with steric-hindering groups.
