As of January 1, 2020, the Brewer family made a gift to Brewer Science employees of 33% of the shares in the holding company which owns Brewer Science. Employee ownership is an exciting step in further engaging with our employee-owners to create more value for them, our customers, and our community.
A 2020 Year in Review would not be complete without a mention of COVID-19. Brewer Science gracefully adapted to new challenges, such as virtual internships, through the pandemic and also aided community organizations and continued annual events in a new way.
Brewer Science was able to mix and bottle hand sanitizer and donate to local police and fire departments, ambulance districts, daycares, and schools. This five-minute video details the entire process from concept inception to distribution of the finished goods.
Brewer Science provided Fit Test Training for PPE and N95 masks at a local nursing home and supplied local hospitals and nursing homes with PPE. Read more about Brewer Science’s community initiatives on the blog.
The Pure Enjoyment Art Show has been an annual tradition since 2002 however with the implications of COVID and the encouragement to social distance Brewer Science innovatively created a “virtual” art show. Attendees can navigate through the online gallery and learn more about the art directly from the narration of the artists.
Brewer Science hosts an annual Manufacturing Day, participating with thousands of manufacturers across North America to showcase what modern manufacturing looks like and hope to inspire the next generation of skilled workers. While this was our sixth year hosting MFG Day, this was our first year hosting the event virtually, reaching students in Rolla and across the globe.
